PRESS
RELEASE 2/9/2006: California
Environmental Protection Agency
The
requirement to recycle electronic equipment has
become a reality...
-
As
of February 2006, California has banned all fluorescent
and HID lamps, as well as batteries, from being deposited
in the trash - even by individual consumers and
homeowners.
-
Once
deposited into an association dumpster, the waste is owned
by the association.
-
A
special agency has been tasked with enforcement; fines and
superfund liability are anticipated.
Therefore,
associations need to keep electronic waste out of
association dumpsters!
Three Phase
Electric is a proud distributor for the EPSIPak
recycling system and has developed an innovative system for
larger homeowners associations to safely dispose of spent
lamps and batteries. This
economical, turnkey recycling program will help protect the
association from liability while preserving our natural
resources.
